Reaching altitudes ranging from 2,800 to 3,600 meters above sea level, Bogotá's eastern hills are a must-see attraction in this Colombian city. These hills form part of the eastern mountain range and are among the protected areas in Colombia, serving as the natural boundary of the capital.
On this tour, you'll quite literally dive into the mountains to explore the city's two most renowned hills, Monserrate and Guadalupe. These are not only religious centers but also ecosystems of páramo, where you'll encounter some of the country's primary flora species.
With an exhilarating and enjoyable horseback ride, we'll traverse the natural trail connecting these two mountains. Along the way, we'll delve into historical insights regarding peasant, indigenous, and colonial traditions. Best of all, we'll capture the most breathtaking views of the magnificent city of Bogotá from each hill's viewpoints.
We conclude the tour by descending Monserrate hill via Cable Car or Funicular.

The journey commences with a drive through the mountains to your first stop: El Cerro de Guadalupe, a hidden gem of Bogotá perched at 3300 meters above sea level. Over 1000 visitors flock to this hill on weekends in search of blessings and a serene escape from the city's hustle and bustle.
At Cerro de Guadalupe, you'll be treated to your first breathtaking views of the city while enjoying a traditional snack.
Following this brief pause for refreshments and photo opportunities, you'll be introduced to your horse for an exhilarating 2-hour ride to Cerro de Monserrate. As you traverse the rugged trails, you'll be transported back to the era of religious colonialism in Colombia. Amidst the lush forest and wildlife of the eastern mountain range, you'll discover indigenous and rural traditions and their ties to the hills, ultimately arriving at the renowned Monserrate viewpoint and its cathedral.
< div style="text-align: justify;">Upon reaching Monserrate, at 3152 meters above sea level, you can unwind after your ride and take in the breathtaking views: the entire savannah sprawls before you. Feel free to explore the hill, a cultural and historical icon of Bogotá. Immerse yourself in its enduring myths and legends and visit its central monument from the 17th century: The Fallen Lord of Monserrate.
Before heading back to the city, enjoy some leisure time for lunch and a visit to the artisan market. We'll descend from Monserrate hill to the city via funicular (train) or cable car (cable).
