The adventure kicks off bright and early with our rendezvous at the designated locations:


  • 07:00 AM: Departure from Parque de los Periodistas in La Candelaria.


  • 8:00 AM: Gather with the rest of the group at the second location: Parque de la 93. From here, we'll head towards Guatavita.

  • 11:00 AM: Arrival in Guatavita. We'll embark on a hike to the Guatavita Lagoon, nestled in the Chingaza Natural Park. Led by our knowledgeable guide, you'll traverse the trails surrounding the sacred lagoon and delve into the legend of El Dorado and the Muisca culture.


According to lore, the Guatavita Lagoon was the stage for a sacred ritual performed by the Muisca indigenous people, where the chief would be submerged in the water with offerings of gold and emeralds. This ceremony honored the goddess of fertility and abundance, and it was believed that the chief would reemerge purified and blessed by the goddess.

  • 04:00 PM: Reach the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral. Here, you'll discover the history behind this magnificent feat of architecture and mining. Explore the cathedral at your own pace with an audio guide, visiting its various chapels and spaces for meditation and reflection.
